You have read the S.M.A.R.T approach above & I know you’ve got the point to an extent. Let me just give you more insight.
SPECIFIC:
When you start writing a blog or when you decide that you should make a blog, don’t think in broad terms. Don’t think that you’ll make a BLOG. Instead think specifically, decide your niche cleverly. Don’t choose the niche that attracts you. Choose the niche you master, the niche you know about a lot. If you like beauty products and you know their ABC’s, it doesn’t always mean that you can make a whole beauty blog on that little knowledge base. Maybe you’re good at the kitchen and you can write out recipes that are healthy, tasty and easy to try. It would be better that you start a food blog. The way you tell your brain to behave matters a lot. Think in narrow specific niche terms when coming to starting out a blog.
MEASURABLE:
Now finally you’ve started your blog and you are obviously so full of energy and you want to detonate those energy packs by writing out numerous posts but WAIT! Don’t overburden yourself. That’s going to be of no use ahead. Relax, sit back! Analyse your routine and tell yourself to take it easy. You aren’t obliged to publish a lot of blog posts immediately. It’s perfectly okay If you set a blog posts goal for yourself each week. Start with 2 blog posts each week with an interval of 3 days. You can advance it to 3,4,5 or maybe 6 blog posts per week. Slow & steady always makes it way ahead to success!
ATTAINABLE:
You’ve started a blog, you’ve landed few posts but now you know you need to pay attention to the design of your blog because that’s the most important asset of your blog that will either attract the reader or distract him away. At the same time, you need to promote more blog posts and showcase your blog on social platforms to take the pride in your blog and let people know what you’re up to. You have to update your blog by writing more blog posts….. WHOA! That’s a lot of work to do. But remember, you need to be SMART! And being smart means that you have to set only those goals that are easily attainable. You don’t need to get hard on your blog goals. Set goals for your blog by dedicating one whole day or week (as per ease) on designing your blog, the next week you can start promoting the blog and in between, you can draft some blog posts too. When it’s all set, you can take everything ahead.
RELEVANT:
Now let’s discuss the relevancy. If you’re starting a blog with the sole intentions of being titled as an influencer or to earn dollars, I’m sorry to disappoint but you’ll never get that beautiful essence in your writings. NEVER EVER! But if you write a blog to share some useful information with others, to let others know something important, something that will benefit them, trust me your going to slug top blogging goals. Your writings are a reflection of you so don’t be so clever. When somebody reads your writing, they read your personality, your thoughts and your perspectives. Do you want to look SPAMMY or DESPERATE? Obviously you don’t want to look so. Be humble, be grounded and be true to others. People don’t want to read everything good on your blog. Let them know if something’s wrong or tell them if something is of no good to them.
TIME-BASED:
“Preparedness and punctuality are two of the most important qualities of a leader”
Think of your blog as an auditorium. A place where you have to go regularly and present yourself in words. Now if you’ve published your first post on Monday, it’ll be best if you publish the second one on next Monday because that will make a rhythm for the readers. Readers will know when your next blog posts is coming and they’ll wait for it. In the interval, prepare yourself well so to write sharply, vividly and confidently. Always be on time to throw the wickets away!

Great tips! This sounds like a very good strategy for blogging. It always pays off going into this with a plan!
